I posted two days ago and received no replies! Am I the only person out there that can't stand the thought of a blood transfusion?

don't let OCD get in the way of having a blood transfusion! They are safe. My friend has a serious disease and has probably had 30+ blood transfusions at this point and they've all worked well to my knowledge. doctors know what they are doing! let them fly the plane and don't listen to OCD!

I read your previous post and am really sorry you are having a difficult time right now.

I don't know if this helps. I haven't had a blood transfusion, but I have donated lots of blood and platelets. I'm hoping it's gone to help people like you. I can't speak to everyone who donates, but that was part of the reason I did it. I was healthy and was hoping to help someone who wasn't so healthy. So maybe you can think of it as a loving gift from a complete stranger 🙂

As for doing something medical related that you have OCD about, I can relate. I won't go into details, but last year I had to face some medical procedures I had big fears about. I don't know what your situation is, but know you're not alone in feeling this way.

I truly hope you find some peace and health.

Thank you for your reply. I think because of my ocd I don't want anything in my body that's not mine. Do you understand?

Honey if it's OCD you're feeling, I understand completely🙂

I read once that OCD isn't a thinking problem, it's a feeling problem. There are different "flavors" but essentially it all boils down to the same thing; fear of uncertainty. I'm no expert, but I believe that is the point of ERP. To be in uncertain situations and be okay with it. That doesn't mean that it won't really suck when you're in those situations, especially at the beginning.

You're not the first person to feel this way, and you're definitely not the only person feeling this way now. The good news is that there is literally an army of people out there who want you to feel better and who will work to help you feel better.

I hope this helps a bit.
