I just want this s*** to stop! I’m just always in pain. I can’t focus once it starts, I just want to live my damn life. Or die. The constant triggers make it so hard for me to breath.

I’m currently experiencing a large amount of anxiety. I’m in college, and finals are coming up. I’ve been speaking to my bf all day but he waits until he gets to my place to tell me he has a cold sore.

4 years! We’ve been together for almost 4 years, I have been so transparent about my condition, like why? Why do that to me? I’ve never had a cold sore and now I just feel like him being here is just going to containment EVERYTHING! Someone please just kill me.

You’re so stressed right now, everything is going to be very upsetting for you. Totally normal (in our world of anxiety and OCD). Once the anxiety and exterior stressors dissipate, these specific ocd triggers will not be as painful or time consuming, I promise. Remember to explain what your going through to your bf so he knows. You have every right to be sensitive and your emotions are heightened, tell him that, explain whats happening in your head. Share how you are suffering (just what you want to share)

I’ve been so stressed and my OCD has just reappeared with so much power, I feel quite incapacitated. Remember that stress will make everything worse. Once your exam is done, school is done, you’ll have your summer vacation, you’ll be more relaxed.

It will all be ok!

Hello, the feelings that you are experiencing are totally normal. Just wait until the storm stops. If you are healthy go to the gym or in swimming pool. Swimming helps the mind and body to relax. Buy a book about OCD or go to a therapist for CBT.

I feel your pain.I get frequent cold sores, it may ease your mind a bit to know that the cold sore Virus doesn't last long outside the body.

This is going to sound gross, but the only way you will catch it, is if the warm, wet liquid/puss from a cold sore touches any of your mucus membranes or open wounds. Eg, your mouth, eyes, an open/wet/bleeding cut.

Once the cold sore "liquid" is dry, it won't transfer/won't infect. So if your bf drinks from a cup and a few seconds later you drink from the same cup, you are unlikely to catch it as any cold sore liquid would have gotten cold and dried.

I have done a LOT of research on cold sores, as I was scared of transmitting them to my baby when he was born (cold sores can be dangerous to babies).

Also, chances are it is likely that you already have the virus in your body. Most adults already have it, but it lays dormant, thus does not produce cold sores (once you get it, it is in you forever) and most people catch it during childhood.

With regards to your OCD I suggest speaking to a Dr and look into taking drugs to try and ease your OCD. I spent over a year debating with myself on taking medication for my OCD. When I finally made the decision to take it, I wish I had done so sooner, it helped.
