Fred Penzel, PhD is a licensed psychologist who has specialized in the treatment of OCD and related disorders since 1982. From Dr. Penzel article titled: "How I Treat OCD Killer Thoughts: Treating Violent Obsessions", here are 3 quick tips when dealing with violent obsessions.

1. Expect the unexpected — you can have an obsessive thought any time or any place.

2. Never seek reassurance. Instead tell yourself the worst will happen or has happened.

3.When you have a choice, always go toward the anxiety never away from it.
