Memantine (Namenda)

I was wondering if anyone had success with Memantine for treating some of their OCD symtoms (as off label usage). I don't take well to SSRIs and after taking the GeneSight Psychotropic test, it was pretty evident that my struggle with previous SRRIs wasn't just in my head, since I pretty much have significant gene-drug interaction to most SSRIs (although there were a couple in the green, which I may explore down the line). After some research, I had learned about clinical studies that were done that had shown Memantine to have helped some OCD symotins, After discussing this with my doctor, we decided to give it a go. I have been taking it for about two weeks now without any side effects, which is fantastic! I take 5mg in the morning and another 5mg at night. It may be too early to tell, but I sometimes feel as though my mental state is more clear and I have more energy, but my maybe it is just my imagination. I do fine that my OCD symptoms are still there, though, but I have only been on the medication for two weeks. I know this can be a waiting effort to see the true effects. I was just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this medication (good or bad). I'd love to hear your stories. Did it help you? If so, how long did it take before you started noticing some relief?
