I take both and SSRI and an antipsychotic. The antipsychotic helps more with the intrusive thoughts for me. The SSRI I take is Paxil. The antipsychotic I take is Resperidone. I take 60 mg of Paxil and 1.5 Mg of resperidone but I started at about a third of the doses I'm on now.

Not completely but I believe it has helped reduce my intrusive thoughts. I ended up in the hospital add one point and the Resperidone was add than.

I should state I'm also in therapy to try to help with all of this as well.

a good therapist will help you ..but you have to trust everything they say and do exactly what they ask you to do ...the pills be settle you .but they for me were only a part of the help in sorting this thing out...talk to as many sufferers as you can get to understand this ocd ....and then you will get of the pills and get your life back on track .....the key is accepting that this is an illness that thrives on fear . just get the right therapist and you will beat it

Try lamictal. That literally turned my anxiety off overnight. Good luck and God bless.

I took Prozac for years and it worked really well, however a couple of years ago, it stopped working so I went on Trintellex and I'm so glad I did. Now I'm happy and feel so much joy and positive thoughts about life.

Different meds work differently for people, so it's important to try something your doc recommends, give it ample time to work. If it absolutely doesn't try something else. There are so many different ones. Good luck to you!

Did you have a lot of side effects

I did have nausea for quite a few weeks after starting it, but that has subsided. I also do have constipation, which I attribute to the meds, but I really don't have proof that is the culprit, but I'm so happy with this drug. The down-side is that you can't get a generic yet, so it is quite costly.
