need 2 know obsessions

I don't necessarily know if this could be characterized as OCD, but nevertheless, it is absolutely destroying me. I have this need to know everything about a particular topic and can spend hours on end googling and bookmarking things. Logically- I know you can't know everything about something as the internet is endless, but OCD doesn't care. Even though, I spend hours researching- I have this feeling that I missed something important and this overall sense of incompleteness. So I could spend hours researching and checking the same exact websites over and over and over again. Like- since Im busy with school- Ive been researching less, but I have a google document of over 130 pages of items to research. It could be important things- like things about my university coursework or just mundane things. And then, I can scroll through social media and see something that piques OCD's attention so then I have so many screenshots on my phone. In therapy, I've been working on reducing my screenshots andnot writing something down in that Google document. Ultimately, the end goal is to delete the google doc, but Im not at that stage as of now.

I am sorry that you are going through a rough time.

I have the same compulsion of finding out details on any topic.

It can lead to endless research online.

OCD steps in and causes more topics to keep researching, with the need to know compulsion.

OCD makes me feel that I might have left something important to share from any details.

It just keeps spiraling down in an endless loop.

Sometimes OCD feels like it is an addiction, which is so difficult to control by itself.
