Hi everyone!

It has been too long since I last posted and I wanted to give a quick update. Around this time last year my world was turned upside down. OCD trapped me in a really dark place, but with your support I was able to claw my way out. I still struggle but you all keep me going. Tonight I hung out with my friend, which is usually a trigger that leads me to seek reassurance. I worry about harming others and false memories and so I have a tendency to text my friends or check when they were last active on social media after being with them. Tonight I wanted so badly to text my friend until she responded or check her Instagram to see if she was online but then I remembered all of you — and I found the strength to say no to compulsions and yes to uncertainty. Seeing how many people suffer from OCD motivates me to be my best so that one day I can be a strong example to others in my position. Not only does reading about your struggles encourage me to work towards recovery, but reading about all of your strengths and OCD wins brings so much joy and hope to my heart. So thank you. Let’s stay on this journey together.

P.S. I am going to start tapering off of my Benzodiazepine tomorrow and should be completely off of it in a few months. I will remain on my SSRI. So if you have a minute and feel compelled to do so, say a little prayer for me. It would be much appreciated!

Well done on not a acting on your compulsions to seek reassurance! That's the way to beat the beast that is OCD.

Thank you! 💖

Any resistance to our OCD urges to do a compulsion, is a big step taken towards your

recovery.

I know it is very difficult, and you did it.

Good Job.

May God give you complete healing of your symptoms,

and grant His blessings over you.

Well done : ) your post is encouraging as I have similar issues as it relates to compulsions with people I know and care about. It actually recently had an affect on a romantic relationship I was in which caused its downfall (in some ways). Hopefully I can overcome this once and for all. Will be thinking of you as you taper of your meds !

Thank you! I will be keeping you in my thoughts as well and I know that you can overcome this struggle. New ones may arise but we are strong enough to do hard things!
