Hi everyone. I am wondering if anyone has been put on Rexulti as an add on medication to help with their OCD and panic attacks. I am currently on 20mg of Lexapro, but still have the feeling of panic and bad anxiety. My prescriber suggested adding on the Rexulti, but I have already tried risperidone and it didn’t really do anything except make me feel out of touch. Any thoughts from those who use this medication or who have used this medication are welcome and appreciated! Thanks!

Hi there. I am on fluvoxamina and one "specialist" wanted to put me on low dosis of antipsychotics. I said no. It's been 3 years and I continue with average dosis of fluvoxamina and I am doing fine. But that's me, and I am not a doctor. Only a patient who has worked for a pharmaceutical company for a long time and I know how this business works. Every case is different. I would ask for a second opinion but that's me, maybe he's right...
Hi—I’m late to the chat but had to post, because I’m also taking 20mg Lexapro and Rexulti for (what was) a severe OCD flare up. This combo substantially lifted the burden of OCD from...my brain. Mood improved above all else, but I can’t take more than .5 mg of the Rexulti per day or I’ll nap through it.
If you decided not to try the Rexulti because of your experience with risperidone, it could still be worth a try if you need an adjunct med in the future. Rexulti and risperidone regulate certain neurotransmitters in different ways. Same type of drug, but their little differences can have a huge impact, kinda shockingly. For instance, last year my doc first prescribed Abilify to add to the Lexapro, and it did nothing but make me twitch and move around non-stop. And Abilify is Rexulti’s like older sister—they’re both novel in how they regulate dopamine—and even so, they were like night and day to my system.
