Hi youn

I know it feels so impossible to fight whilst in this agony, but at this very point, is the perfect opportunity to put the OCD bully well and truly in its place. Bullies test the water for ways to upset you and get a reaction, they sniff out your insecurities and use them to their advantage, they have no pity or empathy for your anguish, in fact its quite the opposite, they actually thrive on the pain that they cause.

When I was at school I got bullied, my initial reaction was to burst out crying, beg them to stop, go to my mum for comfort and tell the teachers. I remember hoping they'd take pity and stop, which of course never happened. It took years to understand the bully mentality, I'd wonder why I was bullied when others weren't and started to closely observe what they were doing that I wasn't.

It finally clicked, THEY WEREN'T DOING ANYTHING. They simply didn't react and completely ignored the bully or better still, laughed, the complete opposite of what I was doing. Some people naturally have this "you're just a bully and I'm going to shut you down by ignoring you" response and others (like us OCD sufferers) don't and learn over time.

Ignoring the bully whilst they are bullying is the only way to combat them. They realize that they're not getting the reaction they want and move on and you realize that it was just words and they were all talk and no action.

X sending you strength, lots of love & hugs and I hope you're feeling better soon X

Can you try and concentrate when you close your eyes that you see yourself some place that you would like to visit happy, smiling, sun shining and having a good time. Concentrate real hard on that image over and over, possibly as a distraction to throw the OCD thoughts off?
