Hi everyone! I have had OCD for about 2 years now and have yet to find a med that truly worked..tried prozac, zoloft, wellbutrin. What has worked best for the intrusive thoughts/anxiety?

Have you tried ERP with a therapist that specializes in OCD and anxiety issues? Personally I have had no help from medication and all of my gains (still certainly in progress) have come from ERP and working with my therapist. If you are looking for a therapist, it is important to find someone that knows OCD and anxiety and is familiar with ERP and not ending up with someone that does normal talk therapy for depression and other issues.

The answer is, “Whichever one works for you.” People can tell you their experience with medication, but it’s important to remember that it’s THEIR experience. Unfortunately, the only way to know what works for you is trial-and-error.

Also, as Selesnya says, you want to ensure you’re investigating ERP as well. Good luck! You got this!

Have you had genetic testing done to see if certain medications are a better fit than others? My daughter saw some gains on Zoloft but really started seeing improvement when switched to Luvox.
