Mainly for those in the UK. Sent council an email to see if I needed planning permission to install a dropped kerb over my gateway. They replied. They don't give advice out for free anymore but I was invited to visit council website and complete a form (planning) and they would charge me £25 for the privilege of asking the question. (I don't think I need permission - but having to pay to ask)?
The form covers all sorts. You name it, the form covers it. There is a small question re dropped kerbs, but no way to express what my needs were.
My answer was to knock 3 bits of wood together and form a ramp. Works beautifully, but wanted something a bit more pleasing to look at.
Discovered The Ramp Shop. A business from Aberdeen.
Bought mine last week, and already using it with Adrienne in power chair.
Might be cutting the wooden one a bit shorter to carry round affixed to the back of the wheelchair for when we find the many pavements here without dropped kerbs! Or, indeed, shops, cafes, etc. with an entrance step (you'd be surprised)!
