I believe in making everyday with MSA count and look for something good in that day. However what happened to me on Monday 24/10/22 was beyond belief.
Since being diagnosed with MSA I have had a bucket list of things to achieve whilst I can. Top of my list was to be arrested. I mentioned this to two lovely ladies from Wheelchair Services and they took it upon theirselves to arrange this for me. They approached Plymouth Police Station to see what could be done.
To my absolute amazement this morning two female police officers arrived and told me I was being arrested following numerous complaints of excessive noise coming from my flat.
At this point one officer could not keep a straight face and presented me with a unique award, never before been issued by Plymouth Constabulary.
To say this made my day would be an understatement. Thank you Jen and Judy for planning this for me and thank you to the staff at Plymouth Police Station for arranging it all.
One added bonus was when they escorted me to the police van, complete with lock up cage and turned on the blues and two’s.
They also presented me with my very own police hat.
Fabulous day.

What a brilliant day for you Madauntie! How lovely is it when your reminded there's some just great people out there willing to go over and above to make you smile and help you tick off one of your bucket list?
I'm so glad you had a fab day 😊
...and I think its amazing that your making sure that you can find positives every day 👌
Keep smiling and definitely keep having as much fun as you can ticking off that list.
That's a lovely tale which made me and my wife chuckle. How about fellow sufferers of MSA sharing their bucket list experiences and/or wishes ? I could do with some inspiration as I haven't got very far with mine, just coping with MSA symptoms, NHS appointments, visits to hospice and daily living seems to take up 25 hours of the day.
So far my bucket list is rather short;
1. A couple of hours in a "proper" flight simulator for 737-800. I have this researched and just have to book it when the diary is clearer.
2. A trip on the Orient Express. Probably a short trip unless I win the lottery.
3. A holiday abroad. Health reasons (not MSA) for both of us rather ruled out foreign holidays about 4 yr ago but one might be possible with a full time carer to accompany us.
I simply wanted to post something positive and fun. All too often we moan about belonging to this club that none of asked to be part of. We all suffer to one degree or another and I am no exception. Just once in a while it’s good to remember that there are many kind people out there that want to make a difference in our lives, and to be so thankful for that.
Everyday I try to find something to be thankful for, even if it’s simply that the pain is a little easier. It’s my way of coping. But I have to say that Monday smile is still plastered all over my face. x
