I wanted to share the last 4 weeks with you.

Jon developed the pneumonia and quickly followed sepsis. Jon is a DNR and wished to remain home.

a temp of 40• oxy of 55 it was hopeless.

Round the clock care with Jon struggling for breath, soaring temp and only home antibiotics we struggled through the weekend. Surprisingly he began to pick up and 7 days later sepsis had reversed leaving pneumonia.

He began to perk up and asked to be washed followed by trips to his chair.

Family came and said their goodbyes.

4 weeks later he is well, to the degree we can go on our holiday! He defied all odds, the district nurses, GP and palliative nurse expected not to see him after the weekend on 2 occasions and prepared me for the worst!

Yet here we are! He is now chatty, eating a little, drinking a little, and looking the best he has done in months!

Cherish every moment, every single one and make today the best day!

Love to you all xx

It must have been an emotional rollercoaster for you and your family. It's amazing that he is feeling better than before it all happened. We had a similar scare two weeks ago. My husband is in home hospice and had a stroke. He was transported to a hospice hospital and I was told by the doctor that this was likely his "final chapter." I notified the family and prepared myself for the end. As I write this, we are home and he has recovered to near baseline. Like you said, we are celebrating each day of life as if it were our last!

That is wonderful positive news that shows we should never give up as our bodies are marvelous machines.

Enjoy every minute you can and enjoy the holidays.
