I have MSA-C I am getting a lot of pain in my legs, but especially excruciating pain every few days in my calf. Is this something anyone else experiences? Thank you Janice

Yes It fortunately is not on a daily basis.
Is it cramp that you get or something else? If its cramp like pain then maybe a muscle relaxant like baclofen may work or massage and stretching exercises. If its another type of pain then I'm afraid I have no tips? It sounds very annoying! Does anything in particular bring it on?
Thank you for your reply. In my calf it is cramp like so I will try baclofen. But my thighs ache so much. I can’t really say what triggers it.
i am a relatively new recruit having had my MSA affirmed only on Monday. Spasmodic cramps or muscle contractions are an issue for me. I am interested to know about baclofen Up to now I have been coping on a diet of co-codamol with topical voltarol and vigorous pummeling of the calf and thigh. In ignorance I do wonder how it might conflict with my CRTD pacemaker defibrillator and mindful of Jeremy Paxman in the Movers and Shakers blog where he expressed concern over the bowels one might approach a relaxant with slight trepidation.
I was prescribed baclofen 5mg nocte for muscle crams experienced mainly at night. it has helped and apart from feeling a but groggy in the mornings it has had no negative affects and seems to have stopped the cramps. It may be worth a converstaion with your GP?
I also have leg pain mainly my knees and thighs it makes my balance worse with frequent falls. Am going for physio to see if that will help. I had my diagnosis Feb 22
