Good evening peeps

how this finds everyone as well as we bloody can be!

Regarding pain management;

Recently I’ve been experiencing debilitating lower back pain. Gabapentin hits the spot but between doses how does everyone mange pain?

I’m on a low dose of Gabapentin, 300 mg morning and night. I’m reluctant to increase this presently as to keep higher doses in reserve.

Thanks in advance

Yours

Alec

I manage my back pain with Gabapentin and paracetamol. I historically had Fentanyl patches but never again!

Coincidentally enough I started paracetamol today and it works! Never thought it would.

I have been told that paracetamol is most effective when you take it regularly not just when in pain but do not take more than the recommended dose.

Bad cracker joke

Why can’t you get aspirin in the jungle?

Because the parrots ate them all!

Paracetamol can be effective. I was taking hogh levels iof Gabapentin and Fentanyl patches at one point. I’ve tried all sorts including morphine patches but a dr taught me about ‘layering’ , and LifeHalf-Full is right it’s best if you keep taking the paracetamol xx

Hi

My sue has been using Gabapentin for many years but mainly for nerve pain . We did hit the maximum dose and switched to pregabelin and the dulcoxatin. Eventually we settled on Fetanyl patch and Gabapentin. She is pain free and totally alert.

Paracetamol as a top up.

Hi TC on Gabapentin 3x day + morphine patch. Was on cocodamol as well but very constipating so switched to Naproxen 2x day and been much better re pain control. We also use Ralvo medicated plasters which contain lidocaine for topical back pain relief. Hope you find solution

My wife is on an apparently low dose of 200mg of Gabapentin 3 times a day but has just been put on Baclofen 1 tablet 3 times a day (to help with Muscle Spasticity apparently). The Palliative nurses have advised we up the use of her Oramorph 1.25ml to when needed instead of morning and night-time. My wife keeps saying she doesn't want to Zombify herself as she wants to try and still live a life.
