Weakness in right hand is it normal?

Hi I was diagnosed with MF about a year ago (Calr mutation).

I was on 90msg Pegasys interferon weekly, but because they where unable to get hold of it.

I was swapped to Besremi 125msg every 2 weeks. only had 5 injections so far.

Recently I notice over the last few days a weakness in my right hand, No pain just hard to grip anything tightly.

Is this normal with Besremi ? will it pass with time? or should I stop taking it?

Obviously will mention it when I see the haematologist but that not till late June.

Would ring the haematologist nurse but it Easter weekend.

Any help would be appreciated Thank you.

While weakness in the hands is not a common Besremi adverse effect, it could be a rare instance. You should definitely contact your hematology office ASAP. Any significant change should always be reported. You could also contact your specialty pharmacist for consultation.

Please let us know what you learn and how you get on.

Agree with Hunter, any new neurological event while on IFN is a danger signal, esp with the emergence on a new IFN and dose. You should be sure to contact your Dr before you take a next dose.

You can see my posts "Last Dose" for a worst case outcome.

Could it be carpal tunnel syndrome? Grip weakness is usual with that,
