I’ve been on Momelotinib for 3 weeks now and have been for a review
My haemoglobin has gone from 76 to 81, not a massive rise
However my platelets have jumped from 279 to 529
The doctor said he expected my platelets to go up
My white blood count has gone from 5.9 to 7.2
Blasts from zero to 0.1
My other counts are within normal levels except for
Haematocrit 0.25
RDW 20.2
Nucleated RBC 1/100
Urea 7.9
Creatine 9.2
These are very similar to last month’s figures
The doctor says 3 weeks is a bit soon to tell how the new drug is going to affect my counts, so he wants me to go back in 5 weeks, unless I feel unwell or anything before then.
I haven’t had any bad side effects - so far!

It sounds like you are on a predictable path with initiating momelotinib. You are on-target that is is too soon to tell how you are going to ultimately respond. I would not worry about the platelets at that level. There is no evidence that there is any benefit to keeping platelets below 400 has a particular benefit for most people with MPNs.
How great you haven’t had any bad side effects! Thanks for letting us know how you’re doing. We’ll have to see what happens with your next labs. Hang in there! Katie
