Hi
I have always had the Pfizer vaccine.
Only choice now is Moderna.
Are we okay with that fellow MPNs?
I also only had Pfizer until late last year when it was time for booster and it was not available. I cleared taking Moderna with hematology. She said no problem but again emphasized not to combine with any other injection, at least two weeks apart between injections. I had no reactions other than sore injection site with Pfizer. The Moderna injection site was also sore but worse was having 2 days of flu like symptoms after taking it. I swore to not take it again. So taking it is supposed to be safe but my experience was the unpleasant reaction.
You Dr is right about spacing shots apart. I paid dearly for me and my Drs not knowing this two years ago. This was not a common issue before Covid since the flu shots mostly happened in isolation.
I have the same reaction but it lasts around four days. The worst possible pains and fatigue. I cancelled my booster earlier in the month because I decided I couldn't face those side effects again. It takes something to put me in bed but that vaccination does it every time.
Now, I just need to hope that I don't catch it. I must admit, I'm worried.
I have had both. Can't say as I found any difference in how i responded.
If had them all. No real issues.
The two vaxes are similar. But the Moderna is a larger dose, 50mcg vs 30 for the Pf. As a result sometimes the Moderna has more obvious effects. In some early studies Moderna was more effective, but I've not seen any recent studies.
Hi. Like you I had always had Pfizer. Alway had a sore arm and sometimes palpitations for a few days between the day of the shot and a week later. I was on hydroxy and my WCC was very high. I have recently transferred to Rux and its brought my WCC down to almost normal. When I arrived for my vaccination they only had Moderna. I was pretty worried, and I had forgotten to take my anti-histimine which added to my stress. Still I was there and didn't want to go back on another day so I had it. It was fine, I got no side effects whatsoever - so now I'm worried it hasn't worked properly! I can't win! It does go to show though that everyone and every vaccine is different.
I had Pfizer for the first 7 jags and recently, like you, was only offered Moderna. I was told it was the same vaccine, just a different manufacturer, so with no choice I took it. Apart from the usual slightly sore shoulder, I was fine.
Like others, I found it best not to have two vaccinations together. I had my 7th Covid one along with a flu one and felt rubbish/ flu like for 2 to 3 days afterwards, so going forward will have them all separately.
I wasn't told anything. Just got the jab, had a sore arm as usual, and felt so bad the next day that I took to my bed. Pfeizer never did that to me. Don't they have some sort of record that tells them about patients with blood cancer?
Hi. I had the Moderna last Monday with no ill effects except a bit of a headache I’m M F

I was booked for Vax at GP’s at beginning of May but phoned to ascertain which Vaccine as I’ve always had Pfizer and didn’t want to risk bad side effects. They only had Moderna so I cancelled. I looked on line for local Pharmacies doing vaccinations and phoned six . All of them only have Moderna so I haven’t risked it.
like so many others I had previously just had Pfizer but it didn’t occur to me to refuse the Moderna. Had my jab on 2nd of May and no problem at all. Just feel a bit safer as there seems to be a lot of Covid about!
