leg pains around groin an hip

hi lovely friends my platelets have gone to 600 from 100+ am on pegsy now fortnightly but am suffering from bad pains in legs around the top and groin area the doctor is sending me for a X-ray has anyone else suffered this pain it’s even woke me up at night xx

yes I suffer from hip and leg pain , had a X-ray few years ago but showed nothing , pain has got worse specially at night and seems to have gone right down my legs , sharp pains

I had a lot of pain in the groin area - I put it down to my PV for a while, but an X-ray showed that it is arthritis - I’m having a hip replacement in two weeks’ time!

I hope you get a clear idea of what is causing your pain soon.

Yes I am starting to get this too. Turmeric and swimming keeps on top of it but does hurt at night especially if I've not taken it. Pv and peg 90mg a week. Wondering if it's a side effect of peg or just getting old. Can't really do long walks anymore.

Wow this happened to me in January it is lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment so look that up and I had to go to physical therapy and from here and there my hip does hurt but the worst part was when it hurt in the groin area that was actually painful to no end and I am also 48 but I have gained weight recently like at least 25 pounds or 30 and when you put on weight all of a sudden you are very prone to this if it's what you have

If your clothes or underwear are tight that is going to make it a lot worse I couldn't even lift my knee or leg because the pain in the groin was excruciating

at 1 point it will move to the knee and down the leg it's very similar to sciatica but it is not that. I'm not on medication and swimming helps but nothing tight to wear, keep moving and good luck. LFCNE look up

I experienced this, X-ray showed mild arthritis. 2 years later, despite doing physiotherapy exercises, needed a full hip replacement. Haematology said the rapid worsening of my hip was due to the ET, as it overreacts to inflammation n made it worsen

Replaced now and no more pain.

I have ET and am JAK2 +. I have horrible right groin pain. It is not constant, but when I have it walking, my leg almost gives out. When I am immobile it does not hurt. The bones of my spine hurt constantly. I use warm heating pad and Hemp cream. That helps a lot!

Hi,

I have for a while suffered from pain in hips and recently my whole outside area of my right leg gets very painful, especially at night time. In my case, however, it’s the outer side of my thigh and calf. I mentioned this to a haematologist, and he said it was muscular and I should talk to the GP about it. I have had a couple of massage sessions and it eased it off, but it didn’t completely disappear. Should probably see the GP. I have wondered whether or not this is related to my PV.

Interesting to see all these similar painsI'm interested to know if it happened after multiple covid shots. Mine never happened prior and I know people with vain and respiratory issues happened after Pfizer etc

Morning that's a really interesting thought I suffer from bad hip pain and long bone pain which is excruciating at times trying to think it this happened before the many covid jabs I sort of assumed it is part of pv I wonder if we will ever know if it's related to covid shots
