Tested positive for Covid on Saturday. I have ET and take hydroxycarbamide so I contacted 111 after logging my positive LFT on the NHS website. I followed all the advice on MPN voice and blood cancer UK. Told that I would be contacted in roughly 24 hours by my local CMDU and given an assessment ,. suffice to say 48 hours later, no call back so I called 111 again this morning and was reassessed as my symptoms have progressed to full blown flu type symptoms. Had a 2 hr call back from an out of hours doctor who said she would refer me again to the CMDU at St. Georges Tooting and I should get a call today for an assessment. Also took and sent off a PCR test which luckily I had ordered as advised by MPN some time ago. so here I am at the end of Day 3 and no contact. I see from a post below that someone called blood cancer UK's help line, I am minded to do this tomorrow. Haven't the energy to do this today. At this rate I will be out of time for any treatment.
I'm one of those who didn't receive a letter about treatments and I had to complain to my NHS trust to get my 3rd primary dose ..
Thank goodness for the information from MPN voice .

Hi there, it has been four weeks since I contracted covid. I couldn't get the anti viral treatment because it was over subscribed and they were not taking any more applicants. My GP said it was more of an experiment any way. For me my chest is a weak point and the GP said it was very important not to irritate the lungs because of infection. So I am still trying not to cough too much four weeks on. Hopeyou feel better soon ☺
I had COVID back in January. It took 12 days to resolve primary symptoms. Two months for the fatigue to resolve. I was able to access the monoclonal antibody treatment by being persistent. Here in West Virginia, I qualified based on ag (66) rather than PV status. Suggest you muster energy and try again today before it is too late to access the treatment.
Update. Finally St George's called this morning to assess and prescribe antiviral. be couriering Paxlovid to me today. Will have to stop statins for several days.
Congratulations on fighting for and obtaining the medication you need. It is sometimes sad what we have to go thru to obtain needed treatment. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Let us all know how you do with the meds. Best
Bless you, it’s so annoying, the first few days of covid if you are lucky are the worst. You shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to get what the nhs have deemed you need.
