Can you describe aches and pains in bones and muscles with mpn

For approximately 10 years I've been living with painful feet. I've had custom orthotics, xrays, ultra sound with no clear diagnosis. Sometimes my feet ache or throb. Then I began to have severe pain in lower back, hips and muscle in buttocks. Again no answers. Now I have Mpn and my doctor doesn't think Mpn would cause these aches. I read other posts and find some of you might have the same problem. Please help me if you can by trying to describe muscle and bone aches. Oh and my sense of balance is terrible. Lily

My foot pain felt like I was walking on broken bones. It almost felt like I was just walking on bones with no padding underneath. But the pain goes away mostly when I sit down.

That's exactly how I feel.,like the bones are coming through the bottom of my feet. And the pain goes away with rest? I would so like some relief.

Yes...that is exactly what it feels like...like the bones are just popping through the skin. My doctor put me on Cymbalta and it greatly reduced my pain. I was only on 30 mg which is a low dose. I preferred that dose because I had read many things on the internet about how difficult it was to get off Cymbalta because of withdrawal symptoms. Holy crap I tried to stop the Cymbalta one day and about three days later I had to leave work early because the pain was so bad.

Anyway, about five or six months after starting the Cymbalta it started not to work as well. So my doctor tried me on gabapentin which did absolutely nothing for the pain. I asked if we could double the dose of my Cymbalta and she said sure. So now I am on 30 mg Cymbalta twice daily. For now it is working and I can tell you my pain was serious. One thing about Cymbalta is you can't stop it quickly you have to slowly wean yourself off the medication or you can have bad side effects.

I have tried many things for the pain...foot soaks, gadgets for possible plantar fasciitis, and over the counter med such as tylenol or aspirin...they didn't touch the pain. I am only 42 so even if it was to be arthritis it should not be so bad at my age. I was tested for rheumatoid diseases and came back negative. I definitely feel like my pain is related to my ET which I've had for at least 16 years...maybe more.

Maybe ask your doctor for the Cymbalta? Please let us know what happens. ❤
