Hi Jody, hope you feel better soon and that the tests went ok. Best wishes, Maz
Thankyou had few mins ECG done show up ive got a slow heart rate took bloods from me doctors refferel for me go to hospital to have a 24 hour ECG done just waiting on an appointment thankyou Xx
Sorry to hear about the bradycardia. Are you on any meds that cause that side effect? I am sure you can work with the docs to get that all sorted out. Maybe while you are in the hospital you can get the ear issue and mole more thoroughly evaluated as well. Note that some meds can cause skin problems too. Be sure to check your meds for that side effect as well.
Meanwhile - all the best. Thoughts and prayers headed your way.
hi am just on 75mg asprin at moment with my platelets count gone back down to 591 and doctors told me to use olive oil for my ear with it being block and had ECG done today think investigate to see why am going lightheadedness headaches little dizzy at times but had bloods done aswell today said my heart beating slow so having a ECG on for 24 hours just waiting on my appointment to come threw now think ots to see if anything else is going off.thankyouXx
That makes sense. So the bradycardia may be a separate problem from the MPN. Likewise the ear blockage.
FYI - I had the opposite problem - Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia. Was diagnosed a couple of years ago. I ended up having surgery to correct it (catheter ablation). It was not related to the MPN. Truly a separate condition.
FYI2 - I have also had ear "blockages" many times. Inner ear issues usually require oral anti-biotics. Outer ear blockages might respond to a low end tx like olive oil, but depending on the cause - may need more aggressive treatment. If it is just excess earwax, then it can just be cleaned out. If it is a fungal or bacterial infection - it needs more aggressive tx. I am very prone to Swimmers Ear. My doc recommended a home remedy of 50% alcohol/50% white vinegar for this problem.
Inner ear infections and bradycardia can both cause lightheadedness. I would be more suspicious of the latter based on what you describe. I hope you get your 24 hour ECG done soon. FYI3 - I had to do the same thing. The cardiologist just hooked me up and sent me home with the monitor. They read it when I took it back.
Do let us know how things turn out.
Yes a will do still waiting at moment for ECG to be fitted on for 24 hours might be waiting a while now with our area being high due too covid19,am not getting any earwax coming out yet been using drops for few days now but I am starting to get earache so il see how i get on next few days and am going have to phine doctors again over my new mole has its gine bit bigger and scabber then there might do something about it cos said to me not too much to worrying but well see what doctors have to say. Thsnkyou very muchXx
Sorry to hear you have yet another thing to look into. Hope the changing mole is no big deal, but don't ignore it. Likewise the ear infection. I have had a few really bad ones. Makes a big difference whether it is inner or outer ear. That is really easy for a doc to determine, but the doc has to see you (or your ear). I do hoe you get the ECG monitor set up ASAP as well. This is pretty low risk, so not sure why COVID would affect fitting you. That is what PPE is for. Crazy times!!
Do let us know how you get on. Meanwhile thoughts and prayers headed your way. Feel better soon!
