Covid vulnerability
Yes I did I had my booster then I had a letter saying I was high risk and I was eligible for a 4th jab for blood cancer they have text me aswell and I received a load of stuff in post a test and medication
I think you are referring to AZ's Evusheld. It is used before infection to reduce risk of infection or serious outcomes. It is also useful against Omicron. If you are immune compromised and don't get a vax response your Dr may advise it.
If you do get a good vax response it's unlikely your Dr would recommend this treatment. Vax is preferable if applicable because it normally provides deeper immunity for example in the T-cell system.
The IV infusion I’m having is Sotrovimab. I have had 3 full doses of Pfizer vaccination but no booster. I don’t know if this is normal or if I should be having a booster too.
Did you also have a low response to the Vax? (low or no antibodies) That medicine is normally used *after* you test positive for Covid, while you are still positive, and your Dr considers you at high risk of covid progression. I assume then you had a positive test? If so it is normally too late to benefit from a booster (4th) vax for your current infection. But you may want to discuss the 4th dose with your Dr after you recover.
<<Sotrovimab is authorized for use under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the treatment of mild-to-moderate coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adults and pediatric patients (12 years of age and older weighing at least 40 kg) with positive results of direct SARS-CoV-2 viral testing, and who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death.>>
