Anyone had the flu shot on hydroxycarbamide not sure if to have it

Yes I have had it while on HU. Provided it is not a live vaccine it is fine - actually a really good idea.

Yes, I had it three weeks ago. I am on hydrea, and have the flu vaccine every year. Absolutely no issues with it.

Yes, I had it on Thursday and take HU - I've been having it for a number of years.

Like the other replies I have had PV and taken HU for 9 years, and each year had the flu jab. I not had any ill effects except the usual sore arm for a couple of days.

Yes, and in fact my GP recommended I have it, because I was on HU. I am 60 and from Australia

Absolutely. Told in no uncertain terms by team at Guy’s to get on and have it! I think everyone bracing themselves for a flu / Covid storm this winter.

Hiya yeah for around 12years now and never a problem. Even more important this year to have the jab. Just leaving to have mine this morning 👍

Yep, had mine 3 weeks ago as well as last year. On 500mg/1gm hydroxycarbamide alternate days, absolutely no issue apart from the usual slight side effects afterwards like slightly sore arm.

Yes I had my first ever flu vaccination once I’d started on hydroxycarbamide on the advice of my haematologist. Had no problem at all with having it. Was also told to make sure it wasn’t a ‘live’ vaccine.

I have been on hydrocarbamide for approx 25 years and have been having flu vaccines every year for most of that time, including this year, with no problem at all.
