Over here in France I was fast tracked for my first 2 jabs (Pfeizer) by the hospital that undertook my SCT - SCT is considered as a priority - however for the 3rd jab I have to go through the ´standard’ process. Any recommandations on the choice of 3rd jab? Pfeizer or Moderna? Some say stay with Pfeizer, others say change to Moderna.

Have you read Max’s update today and specifically the statement from Blood Cancer UK which says we should definitely NOT take the Moderna booster but Pfizer is good, even if we already have our booster booked already. Mine is on Monday at a Pharmacy through NHS booking system. Regards, Fran
I had my first two Pfizer vacs early in the year at my usual hospital, just had 3rd booster vac of Pfizer, hubby too. A choice was not mentioned...Fr is calling forward all people considered 'vulnerable' for 3rd vac .Hope all is going well for you health wise, the only thing not affected by Brexit it seems ,thank goodness.Best to you.
« it’s really important that if you are invited for a booster dose and are offered Moderna, you should NOT get that instead of your third dose. This is because when Moderna is given as a booster dose, there is less of the vaccine in the vial than when it is given as a third dose for the immunocompromised. We have been told that Moderna is not being used for booster doses at the moment so it should not an issue at the moment, but we expect the NHS to start using them for booster doses in the next few weeks, at which point it will become an issue.« bloodcancer.org.uk/news/wha...
Hi Gary , , hope all is well , , I'm having a bit of a French evening right now with an aperitif being vin rouge (Spanish Merlot though) along with a little cheddar. Quite sophisticated for a Philistine like me ! Be tucking into fish, chips and peas afterwards, more up my street. Good to see your post today.
The fish and chips sounds a good thing to me - over here in France they try but it's not the same.
Health wise things are pretty good apart from I'll probably be having a hip replacement in the not so distant future.
Had to skip my annual checkup last year because of COVID - if things go well in November (which I expect) I'll be put on a 2 yearly checkup interval for my SCT/blood related stuff.Gone back to work since mid-February which is very tiring but had to do it to get a bit closer to retirement age.
Keep my eye open on the MPN Healthunlocked site from time to time, but have to be honest I'm not as active.
Hope all is going well for you - hard to believe the SCT change in our lives took place 6 yrs ago!!
Aye Gary it is hard to believe twas 6 year back , sometimes seems like yesterday when a memory is triggered, sometimes all a bit surreal , did it happen ? Like you im bloody glad it did and we're both chugging along albeit on opposite sides of the Channel.
Sorry you're needing a new hip though after SCT it should be a limp in the park for you. I hope you don't have to wait too long. And real good news about moving to a 2 yearly check up . I'm still,on roughly 3 months but hoping to increase that soon.
Big up for you on your return to work, sadly not a viable option for me because had my fill of office type work when younger and not fit enough for the physical exertion of gardening, painting and decorating , odd jobs but I do still miss it.
