Covid19 vaccine : Hi has anyone read the news... - MPN Voice
Covid19 vaccine
Following as I too am concerned about the same thing. Due to go for my first vaccine on Sunday and at the moment am thinking I should cancel it. Hope you get a reply. X
Am not sure if its all true but it has made me bit worried a don't know when am due my 2nd jab and when if so to have it done or not ,saying quite a few people had blood clotting but still investigating at moment might not be right but we really need to know sure,I had my first vaccination January 29th been fine every since just had a numb arm for 2/3 days .just with hearing this yesterday made me feel bit uneasy to go for my 2nd 1 or not when its due,u could ask your doctors to ask if its safe with what been said with condition we got or someone on hear maybe be able to give answers more than what we know hope all goes well .Xxx
Hi Jody00, I asked Prof Harrison and she has said: We monitor this is in the UK via the MHRA. We are aware of several MPN patients who have had AZ and are fine.
What I read on a BMJ site was that 30 people out of the 5 million vaccinated with Astra Zeneca in the EU had a blood clotting issue and they feel possibly these people would sadly have had the clot naturally anyway. I think over 11 million have now had this vaccine .
I'm not a doctor but have had my first AS one and also a lower leg DVT 6 years ago. I've thought about the risks and think the risk having Covid and being seriously ill because of my MPN is considerably more dangerous.
Best wishes Diana
I had the AstraZeneca one back in January, slight reaction for a couple of days, but totally fine. Had to have that one as I suffer with allergies.
Just feel it’s Europe being a bit over cautious, considering how well we have done with our roll out of millions of the vaccine and now are numbers are coming down.
Look at this way, thirty people have got blood clots, all be it a couple have unfortunately died but millions haven’t, I would rather be protected from getting Covid, and trying to get get back to some sort of normality, Maz is correct in saying that it’s being monitored all the time, that’s all we can ask for, bring on the second jab and getting our freedom back.

I am in Bulgaria and had the AZ vaccine yesterday just before they suspended it. I have PV and Jak 2+ So I was concerned. Have had a throbbing headache all night even though I have taken paracetamol. Does anyone know if this is normal. 2nd vaccination due 21 May.
Regulators who have looked at this point out it’s actually a smaller number than would be expected in the general population during any given month. Many “side effects” will come up because of the mass level of the vaccination programs, but so far any outside the expected ones that happened in the trials have been shown (like this), to be purely coincidental and normal.
The YouTube presentation on the 11th March by Dr John Campbell, a retired UK nurse and university lecturer, gives a good account of the normal incidence of thromboembolic events and the risk following a Covid vaccination.

It would be the recording when Covid Groundhog Day strikes. I have been having trouble remembering the day, the month and even the year!
If three people were killed in road traffic incidents in the days following a Covid vaccination would all of these countries suspended the vaccination?
