Yes, I had my bloods done 6 days after having Covid jab and my platelets were significantly lower and my white count was at the high end at 11-1 which is higher than normal for me. The way I see it is the body showing an immune response to the jab which I hope is good. Tina.🤗

Hi. Yes! I had my vaccine at the end of January and my blood counts mid Feb (white blood cells and platelets) were way better than they have ever been. WBC down from 30 to 15!!!! My haematologist was amazed at the difference, but said stay on two hydroxycarbamide capsules a day and we’ll check again in April. I wonder what will happen when I have my second vaccine! 🤔

When I have my second jab, my bloods are going to be done 2 weeks later this time, so I will report on it if I have the same response. Tina. 🤗

This is a fascinating post. Will let you know if the same happens to my results when I get them

Yes,please do. It would be interesting to hear off other people who have bloods done a short while after having the jab without any other medication changes. Tina.🤗

I have my bloods done soon but mine won’t be a gauge as I had to increase my dose a few months ago.

Fingers crossed I’ll be able to decrease it again 🤞

Just had my second Covid shot yesterday and I’m seeing my hematologist tomorrow. But I also ran out of one of my chemo pills (Inrebic for MF) 10 days ago and just received them yesterday. I had to change to a new specialty pharmacy when I turned 65 this month and they really screwed up. I also take hydroxyurea. It will be interesting to hear the results of my bloodwork tomorrow.

I had AstraZeneca jab and my blood check was two weeks after it. I have ET and am on Aspirin and Hydrea. My platelets, white cells and neutrophil counts had been stable for a year, but this time they were all raised, not by a huge amount, but definitely up on my usual count. My haematologist said she isn't concerned, and is leaving me on same dose for now. I go back in June, so hope they have gone down again by then. I was wondering if other people's counts had been up, but seems the opposite! Lol.

No my platelets were significantly down but my whites cells and neutrophils were just above normal which i'm interpretating as a postive immune response to the Covid jab. Tina.🤗

Yes, I was thinking the same, that my slightly raised white cells and neutrophils meant the jab was doing it's job and my immune system was working!! 🙂

This is very interesting, I have ET and had my blood test two days after I had my vaccine although my platelets were not a lot lower at 338 they were the lowest platelet count I had since I was diagnosed 5 years ago

I am currently on Hydroxycarbamide 500mg capsules at a dose of 9 a week (plus low-dose Aspirin, etc). On 5 Jan 2021 and 23 Feb I gave blood samples and between them (on 11 Feb) I had my first dose of the Pfizer BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. All of my blood measures were down slightly on 23 Feb compared to 5 Jan. Platelets were 286, the lowest count since they began to be monitored closely in late 2018 (ET diagnosis Feb 2019).

Apart from a bit of pain in the arm near the injection site I did not notice any symptoms in the first few days after having the vaccine but I did feel slightly unwell once or twice a bit later (perhaps nothing to do with the vaccine?).
