A word of warning. This is false information but it's what I was told. I'm sharing this incase anyone has a covid risk assessment for work. I'm sure there are many software packages out there, which may give more accurate wording.

I had a phone assessment. No big deal, my line manager had already supported me and wasn't expecting me back in my office. I can work from home.

I have PV and been prescribed Pegasys since 2016. All bloods are normal.

This assessment was done through a computer program. My risk score was 3.1. The statement I was told 'you can't return to work. You will die if you get covid'. The not returning to work is fine but the guaranteed death I have an issue with.

At the end of the assessment I did ask for the research which lead to PV and or Pegasys being classed as such high risk. The assessor had not access to that information.

I have reported this to my HR department. They are taking this very seriously.

Well that must have made your day! Clearly the computer needs some training. Wonder who else is being given an unexpected death sentence at the end of a routine OH assessment. Hope they redress that PDQ. At least you are not being pressurised to return. But maybe you’d rather be back in the office? Take care.

I would rather be able to return to work but I do accept its better to be cautious. I'm thankful I work for a very caring employer.

Sounds like a case of "Rock-for-a-Brain." Oh brother! Glad you had the sense to not overreact to that kind of nonsense.

That’s awful Eleanor. They just don’t think before they open their mouths. My work was similar leading up to early retirement. It can be really hurtful and make you more anxious. As long as you’re still getting paid, make the most of the time.

Kindest regards Aime xx😻😻

I'm glad I've seen the latest

research on the virus.

Nothing definitive but our reaction to the virus might be more towards a ‘normal’ reaction, assuming we don’t have other health issues. This is the information I understood from patient power. It’s difficult because the numbers of MPN patients are so small (and many of us are shielding ourselves).

Sounds better than being high risk though. Take care.xx😻😻
