Hello, I've not received anything yet this time. I did get a shielding letter last time. Was wondering is it advisory only, I am ET jak2 positive on aspirin only. Do you think it would be ok to go to work as I'm not on medication. I work in a hospital but my boss's is keeping me away from patients so doing paperwork, phone calls etc. (Not able to work from home). Hoping to carry on working this time.

It is only advisory - I’ve copied and pasted this from mine for reference:

‘Whilst this is not a return to the very restrictive shielding advice you may have followed earlier in the year, you are strongly advised to follow these extra precautionary shielding measures to help keep yourself safe. This remains advice, not the law.’

But it adds:

‘You should stay at home as much as possible but are encouraged to go outdoors for exercising and attending health appointments. You are strongly advised to work from home. If you cannot work from home, then you should not attend work. You may be eligible for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (furlough). This letter is a formal shielding notification and can act as evidence for your employer to show that you cannot work outside your home until 2 December, including for statutory sick pay (SSP) purposes’

Thank you for that. Not had a letter or anything yet maybe I'll check with occupational health at work to check what to do.

I'm in Scotland and didn't get a shielding letter first time around and I have heart disease too, but then we're not in lockdown at the moment. Interesting to see all the variations with people though. TAke care

Hi not had mine yet and had to phone hospital for some more medication.

Surprisingly I was told I need a consultation which will probably be face to face rather than the tele one last time and I can go into the hospital to collect meds - these were delivered to me last time so not sure how things are at the moment?

According to my email:

Medical appointments are allowed but you’re strongly advised not to go to a pharmacy.

Helpful?? No.

I did go to my pharmacy yesterday (immediately breaking the rules) - although I checked to see if it was empty before going in.
