Hi by now l would have had me usual dental checks. Of course this has not been possible due to the current situation. I'm wondering wether others have noticed some changes that might be linked to hydroxy,in my case l have an increased sensitivity in my mouth and gums and the need for more appointments for descaling etc.
Hi, just a little thought....why have you not been to see the dentist? They do perform the strictest procedures as they are themself in the "dangerzone". Also, if you do decide to go, ask for an appointment first thing in the morning as no unwanted particles could possibly be in the air then. It is mostly the AGP (Aerosol Generated Procedures)that cause a problem and that is why a fallowtime of 1 hour is set beween patients if AGP is done.I work in a dental practice and my husband is a dentist so I know what is required and how it is performed. Don't forget that we all get older and with that comes problems, other than we had when we were young. But talk to your doctor about it. What I have noticed is that if I get a different make of Hydroxycarbamide, it upsets my stomach. So, I now go to just one pharmacy to get the same type. I also make kefir and drink which seems to help me from feeling sick when taken the medicins.Take care!
Hi Swede thank you for great feedback and loads to think. I am building up to going to my dentist is it correct that now being on warfrin l have to discuss my dental appointmet with hematology and GP.
Hello again, I think you could ring your doctor and ask what he-she thinks BUT do that a few days before you actually have an appointment. It you are only having a check up I think you will be fine but you will have a phone conversation with the practice when you book. (They will ask you about symptoms et etera, regarding Covid19.) and that would be a perfect time to discuss this with them. I presume you already told your dentist that you are on medication? If you need to have something more than a check up, the dentist will advise you and if you bring the telephone number and name of your doctor, they can speak to eachother, if needed. Good luck!
My NHS dentist in Wales is only accepting emergency appointments - pain needed! I have been told to buy a temporary filling from a pharmacist to use myself!
I have now not had a dental appointment for nearly 2 yrs was due for a check up at the end of last March. This was postponed for 3 months by the dentist then cancelled by them. They started taking emergency only at the start of 1st lockdown & this has continued right through.
