Laughter is the best medicine.

But ruxolitinib is pretty good too.

Rux is great but laughter doesn't make you put on weight!

True. I put on 10 lb when I started rux, and another 5lb when the dose was disastrously increased from 15 mg bd to 20 mg bd. That also triggered a nasty form of skin cancer. Which isn’t a whole bundle of laughs.

But there’s no need to choose between jokes or rux - lets enjoy both.

I’m on Hydroxi but it makes my skin dry and my eyelashes are getting on the thin side! Or is that age? 😂 I saw Ruxcan be a weight gainer. Hey ho.

I guess if we feel well what’s the odd bit of flaky skin, thin lashes and a red spot or two.......or an extra pound or three round the middle.

We’re lucky to be so well looked after.

Have a good weekend.

When I first started Hydroxy my eyelashes had gaps in bottom lashes, also some fell off at top. Been on 1000 since November 2018. My eyelashes have all grown back and longer. My hair is in good health. I wash it in Micellar shampoo. Use a good brush that untangles in. I don’t use straighteners that much. My skin arms legs much more dry now. So I use body brush and mild organic moisturiser.

Thanks Helena. I ve been on it for 10 years now 1000 daily too.

I have Histamine intolerance as well and for some reason can t tolerate moisturisers on my body arms or legs.

Never mind, could be worse!

Hi. I have really dry skin & it’s thin so it tears easily. Will a body brush allow my skin to absorb the moisture in lotion better? If so, what do I look for please. Thanks. Katie

Hi Katie,

I honestly don’t know. I can’t use moisturisers.

Have you tried your gp or asking your haematologist?

Yes. They just say lotion.

Oh lord aren’t they hopeless?

Have you tried really gently exfoliating or is that too harsh?

Wonderful, thanks. So was the cases in Ireland. I’m mostly Irish decent & it’s not offensive. Katie
