Hello all, Thank you all for all the helpful and encouraging information. I had good news today my hematocrit has gone down from 59 to 41.3 with phlebotomy alone.
About 3 weeks ago I had a small blister on the left inside of my gum that went away and now feels like a canker sore. Went to the dentist and did X-Rays and found it was not tooth related. I have been doing the mouth rinses and just won't give up. The only medication I am on is aspirin. Has anyone had this type of issue? Any information would be helpful. Best Regards.

I'd give your GP a call & see if they can prescribe something to help. Could be that you are a bit deficient with having so many venesections, great news that reduced your HCT so much but can have a few effects. GP will be quickest solution at this stage but if no joy contact specialist nurse & see if they can advise. Hope it gets sorted soon x
The whole PV thing can leave you more vulnerable and make healing a longer process. Definitely see your GP - best to get on top of it. Otherwise do you have a Nurse Specialist as part of your haem team? They are usually a fount of useful knowledge and experience. Hope it heals very soon.
P.S. Great news on the haematocrit front. Nothing like a working venesection!
May or may not be related to the MPN. I use a product from PerioSciences call AO Provantage Gel. Works better than anything else I have tried for canker sores. it is an OTC med - so no doc order needed.
