Hi everyone .. I was diagnosed with polycythaemia 14 years ago age 40. Managed with hydroxy carbamide and aspirin . All usually ok ..sometimes a bit of a wobble which usually straightens itself out. Recently I had a result which included a reduced white cell count for the first time . Slight reduction in the dose of my meds seems to have sorted it . Slightly concerned about my long term prospects cos of my age at diagnosis. Any other " younger" patients out there ?

Just to say hi
Hi, I was diagnosed withPV at age 42, it’s been 7 years for me so far. I’m on same - baby aspirin and hydrea, 3 pills a day and my platelets are still very high. They were 1.7 million now in the 800’s. Going for a second bone marrow this month to see if anything has changed . Good luck to you.
Hi there, yes I was diagnosed 15 years ago at the age of 42. All stable with me at the moment. I vaguely remember having a drop in my wbc count, however it righted itself next and on going tests.
Hi,diagnosed with Et jak2,11years ago aged 38. A lot of us mpn'ers experience a few blips along the way, some more than others. In my case can't seem to stablize plts for long length of time but getting on okay, we have to control these dreadful blood conditions and if possible not let them impact too much on our lives. Easier, said than done sometimes I know. Atb,tina.🤗
