Hi Phelpsy, Every sympathy - they are so sore! I ended up getting quinine tabs from my GP after being told to take tonic water by my haem - my GP laughed about the tonic water as there is very little quinine in it apparently!! Think haem was trying to humour me!!! I think the tabs helped a bit. What has helped me is the hydrotherapy pool where I go for pilates. the water is about 34 degrees and although it can cause my skin to itch, it helps with joint pains, cramps etc. The physio gave me stretches/exercises to do in the water and this seems to have helped, fingers crossed. Kind regards Aime x

Thank you for your reply Aime , I will ask about the quinine tablets , not sure if there's Hydrotherapy pool around my area , But I will check it out , it sounds very relaxing ,

Many thanks Pam . X

Be careful with quinine as it can effect your wbc. Are you sure you are getting enough salt in your diet? If you are drinking so much water you might be flushing to much salt out of your body.

Now that could be it , I'm so paranoid about taking to much salt , it's possible I'm not getting enough , thanks for the advice ,Pam

Hi Pam, I know I have posted about this before (least I think it was on this forum) totally agree with Malaika, Magnesium Citrate, one dose am and one Pm, but make sure you have enough vit d and calcium otherwise your body will just flush it out

Wishing you well

Diana

we used to recommend bitter lemon for cramp in nursing, I think it had quinine in it. I make sure I am well hydrated especially in the evening. When cramp strikes I have to walk on the cold bathroom floor until it goes away.

Best wishes,

Borage

Hi, for me works Magnesium and I take twice a day two 500mg tabs and this is complex Magnesium. For me Magnesium citrate did not work at all. So I suggest that you may have to figure out which one is working for you. There are different type of Magnesium and also the strength level too. Wishing you well, x

Hi Pam, try taking magnesium powder stirred into some water particularly at night. Check with your Naturopath or GP if you should take it in the morning as well until you get the cramps under control. Here in Australia we have a brand called Ethical Nutrients and they do a nice raspberry flavour so it is very palatable. Anyway hope this helps Cheers Kirsty (Sydney Australia)
