Hello, I'm JAK2+ with ET for 16 years. Had two liver transplants following clotting episodes. Currently I'm in hospital and my hepatologist has prescribed an iron injection as I've anemia, low white and low white cell counts. My haematologist is away so I'm hugely concerned about this decision! Is this okay? They haven't found the exact reason for blood cell reduction...BMB in a few weeks, had OGD yesterday...

Hi KD, Prof Harrison has said - trust your heptologist. Maz
Can’t answer your question, but Maz has anyway. Just wanted to wish you good luck with it all and hope things pick up for you and you get home soon. Best wishes Liz
Thank you Maz and Liz for responses As it happens my hepatologist contacted my haematologist and they agreed an oral daily iron supplement would be preferable. And guess what? I got discharged from hospital later this afternoon
