Hi all, I just wondered if anyone taking hydroxy has trouble with sticky and watery eyes. When I first started on hydroxy 7 years ago I took my meds at night and found that my eyes lids were frequently stook together the next morning. I started taking my meds in the morning and this helped, my eyes are now just a little sticky when I Wake. The watering however is constant, I have been told by my gp and optician that I have dry eyes and that there is nothing you can do to relieve it. I tried an eye gel but this did not do anything so stopped using it. Has anyone else got other ideas. Thanks for listening.

Dry sticky eyes.
Hi, I have dry eyes, due to sjogrens syndrome. I use hylo-forte eye drops, prescribed from the ophthalmologist, it helps. They are used as often as you need. It might be worth having a referral, so they can check your eyes.
Thank you, I will look into that.
I too have dry eyes. Diagnosed way before ET. I use gel. How about hypomellose. Ask the pharmacist. It could be that you need a product that suits you. However I’ve never had watery eyes due to ‘dry eyes’
I have has blepharitis that affected my eyes, but not HU related. Never heard of HU causing that, though it can effect skin and nails. I did have one odd reaction - it caused thickening/discoloration of the skin on my tongue. Looked like Thrush, but wasn't. There are a few odd/rare reactions to HU, so worth checking out. We do all have other issues not related to our MPN or drugs. Perhaps that is the case here. All the best.
