Hi Twinkly, glad to hear you are doing so well - you certainly look it. My PV has been stable which is more than can be said for my osteoarthritis which is having a wee gallop again. It's sore but not life threatening so consider myself lucky!
Hope you and everyone else on this forum and their families have a great Christmas and as healthy a 2018 as possible.
Ah so good to know you are doing well and benefiting too from your good wise eating plan. And what an adorable pup thats given me a big smile! All the best
Great picture Twinkly, you look amazing as always! Glad to hear your results are good. Hope you and all our other MPN buddies have a happy and healthy Christmas.
It's always so good to hear of somebody doing well. You clearly put a lot of effort into feeling good. What is the pup you are holding? It is very cute and looks like a friend's cockerpoo
Hi Twinkly,A member mentioned that you are on a healthy diet and are doing well. Good for you! Love seeing your photo and your adorable dog.
My husband had high platelets 1,800,000 in February. He was giving blood to the Red Cross and they called him and said you need to call your doctor immediately about your dangerous level of platelets. So he went to a top Boston hematologist and she sent him for tests at Dana Farber in Boston. He did have a bone marrow test too. They could not figure out why he had this number. Seeing COVID had just emerged the doctor just put him on a high dosage of aspirin. At the time he was overweight, just started a Mediterranean Diet, and walked 3-4 miles a day.
Every few weeks his platelets have gone down. He has lost 40 pounds and his platelets are now 769,000. The doctors say his origin is unknown and they are happy his numbers are going down. We asked them if they would go back up and they do not know.
Happy Holidays to you and all the members. Together we are strong!
I’m sorry to advise that Twinkly has sadly passed away, I found this as part of her obituary online.
Every three months or so Violet would fly out there (Chernobyl) at her own expense with the collected funds in order to help improvements to be made to the children’s clinic. During one of her visits she encountered a radiation storm, which later on doctors at Addenbrookes Hospital said led to the MPN blood disorder she developed, which was later to become Myleofibrosis and then eventually became untreatable. Violet lost her 12 year battle against this condition peacefully at home with her dogs and husband on 12th May 2020.
Colourful and sometimes outspoken,Violet’s absence from the dogs shows will surely be noticed by all.
