Globally, we can now all see that countries everywhere have started to make Mask wearing NOT an option any longer but mandatory...
When we see that over 150,000 fatalities have already happened and just in the STATES, why would any of us now wait until someone we know & love becomes one of those statistics?
Globally, fatalities have now surged to past 700,000, and cases of infection inexorably approaching 25Million...
In Victoria, Australia - They are in a curfew, and full Lock-Down for at least Six (6) weeks starting today. There are already some speculative reports that case numbers in Victoria will surge into past the 1,000 cases mark before slowly coming back down...
Needless to say, Mask Wearing, in Victoria is now the Law, and the only question that really should be asked is Why isn't already thus in NSW?
Must we wait until we join our southern cousins, or can our leaders pluck up the courage to do more than 'Strongly Recommend" mask wearing?
Here is the basis of a study into Mask-Wearing and why we should all now be donning a Mask... It's simple really, a No-Brainer, it's to keep each other safe...
Best wishes, stay safe & well...

Still Confused About Masks? Here’s the Science Behind How Face Masks Prevent Coronavirus
In Austria masks were mandated. When everything was going great and infections were way down, implemented mask-wearing was lifted, (Except in public transportation and hospitals) but the 1,5 m distancing was kept. Still, about 60% of the population continues to wear theit masks in the supermarkets.
2.5 weeks later, a surge of new infections. Then came mandated mask wearing anew. Now the numbers of infections are falling fast again. I don’t need a study to tell me they work. I think the Covidiots should at some point let it go with the mask discussion. As soon as we wear them, we also automatically distance ourselves. I just put it on and go. I don’t even think about it any more. People have pulled themselves through wars. Why can’t so many just put away their sensitivities and just do what is necessary for the whole? It doesn’t mean we are communists or were losing our freedom! It means we care about each other. 😁
I also wish people would wear masks properly rather then it being something half hearted that they don’t believe in or can’t be bothered to learn how to do
I saw a recent film from Tokyo metro - everyone wore a mask and did so correctly covering nose and mouth They also intentionally avoid chat on commutes as it leads to droplets- totally community minded.
Hence low death rate. Thus with this and other measures they also avoided the kind of lockdowns we experienced and this in a metro city of 38 million where social distancing is a real challenge
Part of our 'Human Condition' is that we are habitual creatures, and changing our own automated behavioural patterns takes a concerted effort, much like breaking an addiction, when changing behaviour dictates that a person must "Want to change first"...
All of us need to be more aware & less selfish in order to see the back of CV–19, in my view...
Hi, since being released from shielding on Saturday last after 3 months plus I went on public transport for the first time. This means masking. Went into a large town and in "malls" masks are also compulsory and in all shops. I must say that I felt quite unwell, not sure if I panicked, but I felt I was gasping for breath. Was so glad to get home and breathe the country air, unmasked. Does mask wearing have this effect on them? All the best, Jenny B
I am not entirely sure that I understand your question...
However, I believe that yours is just a normal reaction of some apprehension about going out into the world where you are well aware the virus CV-19 might indeed be found...
This is unfortunately a true fear and trepidation we all must face from now on, because, and in my view... Our world has altered to become "The New Normal", and will not likely ever return to exactly the way it was ...
Therefore, we must adapt and change our behaviour as required in order to remain extant...
It is an interesting dilemma, when I was first diagnosed Four (4) years ago... Initially, I was overwhelmed, and it took some time to make all the required adjustments before I recommenced behaving in my own 'New Normal' w/ a Terminal MPN as my new bedfellow etc.
The whole world, is now learning to come to terms w/ their own 'New Normal' and right now it remains a fearful place, where everyone feels uncertain concerning their future prospects...
Nevertheless, and as we have already learned through our various MPNs, we can & do adjust, and life goes on... And there will be Life after CV-19, but it might look somewhat different to the worlds we once knew and understood...
Thanks for your reply, I was really just mentioning my experiences, I expect we are all just trying to adjust to the new normal, how much more we will adhere to is to be debated I feel. Take care.
Hello Jenny, I ventured out into our High Street today wearing my mask. I live in a fairly small village but to pass someone on the pavement, it is hard to,keep distance as one of you has to step on the main road. I don't think I'll attempt the High Street for a bit longer after today. However I'm replying to your post as I felt I was having great difficulty breathing with the mask on and when we turned into a much quieter spot I took it off. It probably didn't help that we're having exceptionally hot weather. Up to now I haven't suffered breathlessness or fatigue to any extent. I do want to wear a mask as I feel safer. Only been in one shop so far when quiet (Chemist). Regards, Fran
