Congratulations!! How exciting, I am so pleased for you. It will be the best thing that ever happened to you. Being a grandma is the best feeling in the whole world. I thought my two were never going to have children but last year at the grand old ages of 37 and 39 they produced one each, a little girl called Elsie in March and a boy called Dylan in June, so they are both one now and it has been just amazing. Every time I have a bad day they are the best reason for picking myself up and putting a smile on my face. So so happy for you!

Wow, wonderful news Phelpsy. What a joy they bring. I am a Great Grandma to a boy and a girl and on bad days they certainly put a smile on my face and can make you put aside your troubles. One little smile just makes you melt and count your blessings.

That's lovely news! We've only got one grandson at the moment, I live in hope that number 2 son will finally settle down and give us some more. (Current girlfriend lives in America so might be a long distance grandparent) However number 1 son now has a new partner who already has 2 sons so maybe we are step grandparents now too. Of course the best thing about grandchildren is ........... you can send them back when you're tired!!!
You can also get your own back on your own kids by telling the grandchildren what horrors their parents were when they were young!

I'm a granny in hope - elder daughter married end of 2013 after a ten year romance with her husband who she met in the first year of uni. Just hope a baby isn't as long in coming.....if ever.....!

Oh congratulations. I am a gran of a two year old boy and I love it!! There's times I am feeling down and he arrives and drags me out to play in the garden, then I realise I am just feeling sorry for myself and have a lot to be grateful for. It's the best job in the world.xx Aime

Isn`t that just the best news in the world? Your post conveyed your absolute joy and there is no doubt you will get lots more of that!! I had two boys and would have loved a girl but after two miscarriages decided to give up ( it was 30 odd years ago and I was in my late 30`s) but I now have 3 gorgeous granddaughters, 6,5 and 3 and they are the best thing that could happen to you after having your own children. They will cheer you up on the darkest of days. Hope all goes well. Enjoy!! Sue
