Seriously thinking of trying 'curcumin' however, some people have posted that there maybe contraindications with aspirin. Is it also a blood thinner?
Maz, if you read this, could get some clarification on this for me and others ?

Thanks Maz, bang goes that idea then since I have ET. It just goes to show how you should investigate everything thoroughly.

Hi Maz
Sorry for not understanding, but I am not sure what is meant by 'since platelet function is not agreement'. Please could you help. Many thanks
I assumed it might be auto correct. Maybe 'agreeable?'
I'd also like to know exactly what he means as I take it
Supportive but cautious.....? Please clarify if possible...
Cautious of what?
I wonder if for those not taking any medication for ET (not even aspirin) - low risk patients - it would be worth seeing if it has any positive effects?
I'm worried too as I have been taking Curcumin for several weeks. I have ET Jak2+ and take aspirin and hydroxy. Clarification would be good. Thank you, Karen.
Hi Mary i was thinking of taking this also! so much in the media about how good it is for cancer .. I been drinking this matcha green tea , only one a day. but it seems to work for a laxative on me haha so bit wary now although i did check with my heam last week he saidwas ok , on iresearch i did it said can interfere with blood thinner im on clopldrell now too even though some things are so called natural we have to watch interactions eh tumeric is a spice in currys etc and the curcumin in pill form is the main thing to kill cancer apparently best wishes Holly x
UPDATE REPLY FROM PROF HARRISON : Like many of the community I have been watching the story of Curcumin with interest. Of course it is not of proven benefit in patient with MPN. Personally I am not averse to our patients at Guy's trying this kind of remedy alongside conventional therapies and will be watching carefully to assess if there is further benefit.
