I have tried using cotton buds, almond oil and water but my ear is still blocked and I can't hear anything all I can hear is ringing in my ear which has been most of the time and it hurts and I don't know what else I can do. Please can someone give me some advice thanks.

Blocked ear
Hey Louiseburns316
I have had the same trouble for at least 3 month. I did not realise it at first, because I already suffer from severe Tinnitus. What made me find out was that the sound came and went. Some days it is not band and others it's like one's skull being filled with water --and then plugged
I THINK it is worst the first days after my Pegasys injections, so I wonder about you ??? If you have not been thinking about it, then, how often do you have medicine. Is it Pegasys or one of the pills ??
I must add that I have totally clean ears (my doc. looked ).
So--- I am curious to find out if it is medicine relatet..or it is just some of us--- and pure incidentical ?
Hope you'll have it solved-- our base diseases are more than enough
Have a great day----- yarrowleaf !
I don't really use medication for the tinnitus I have had it for ages and it hurts more when I go to sleep I have tried ignoring it and sound therapy but it isn't effective. I have been trying some almond oil or some warm water or cotton buds to see if its a wax build up but it still hasn't helped so I'm unsure whats wrong with my ear and thank you hope you have a great day aswell
You need to see an ENT specialist I have tinnitus it's never hurt but always exasperating- and not helped having to take aspirin daily as well as Hydrea for thrombocytosis- don't neglect it -- take care
Hello Louise,
I can so identify with you. I had a blocked ear for almost two years. My dr. tried different options but nothing seemed to help. I went to an ENT specialist and finally ended up having two mastoidectomies a year apart. I guess they don't do that procedure much any more. I also have had tinnitus for a long time and found there's not much to do about it. It's very annoying when trying to go to sleep. During the day I don't notice it much, but bedtime it's hard to block it out. Sometimes it's louder than at other times but I haven't figured out why that is. I hope you will go to an ENT specialist to see what the more modern treatments are for your blocked ear. I wish you all the best in finally getting some treatment that's right for you. Best regards, Fran
