Yes I do have hair problems ,,because I took methatrxate for 5 years ,,joints pain from arthritis. Then the blood test showed up P,V. Clotting ..I had venesection for 18 months and hydroxy...luckily I volunteered for the majic trial .was accepted .

Been on the drug ruxulitnib for the last 3 years ,,with excellent results ..I bruise easily ,mind you ! It's difficult with my big dogs when we bump each other in training . I needed surgery as my gut went haywire this last March time ,but my recovery time was good and my surgeon was well impressed by my attitude ,( he was more concerned than me ) ..the secret is to love your life ,and as I do ,with dogs and family .. Be well buddies ,,,twinkly. 💜

We share the same outlook on our MPN's Twinkly.

I was born with a hole in my heart in the fifties and learned at a very young age that I would rather no-one knew then I could just get on with enjoying what I wanted to do with no one saying ' don't run, should you be climbing' etc 😀

No one knows about my Polycythemia (apart from family, close friends and my MPN friends of course) and I will not allow it to define my life.

My specialist nurse has said on more than one occasion to my husband 'nothing phases her does it?). And no, it doesn't.

I enjoy my life in the UK and in Portugal. I love having my family together which will happen today when my son arrives and we will have him, our two daughters and three granddaughters together - yes! This defines my life - not Polycythemia!

Twinkie, have you heard of wheatgrass for getting rid of iron and also improving hemoglobin?

No! Have you tried it? Where do you get it and how much do you take? I have very high ferritin and low Hgb and the recommended med for that is Exjade. However it is not to be used if you have a history of internal bleeding or have low platelets. That's me out on two counts. Very interested in an alternative

Beetle, I have the same issues but my doctor ordered Exjade for me to take. I got the wheatgrass from the health food store. I think I am going to go back and get the pulls though as it smells awful. What are you taking for your high ferritin?

Nothing as yet. Last measured at 6300 so I guess my haematologist will want to discuss it on Tuesday when I see her. My platelets are running at about 35. How low are yours? They say the wheatgrass pills are not as effective. I am living on a farm and they offered my a hay bale to chew on!!! Last week they were discussing my scrap value with high iron! You have to have a laugh don't you

Wow 6300 is high! My platelets run around 100,000 this week but they are up to 125,000. I do not know about Pom T but will do research.

Hard to believe you have an MPD Twinkly you look amazing - and that dog is just gorg. Read up on the Pom-t most of what I read was male orientated but it sure has all the vitamins we need. Realtorin I tried wheatgrass for a good while as a drink and capsules I just couldn't take the smell I really tried hard. Took it for months but as nothing changed for me I very gladly stopped taking it. Heard great results from other people though so well worth a go!!!!!

Hi, yes I took it for six months, didn't notice any discernible difference I am sorry to say, but am about to order some more, it can't hurt and might do some good. It's quite expensive. I always check with my consultant before buying supplements as some can affect blood counts. He didn't object to Pomi-T but didn't sound positive either! Super photo of you and the dog! Frances.
