I really can’t believe how quickly this year is going. So many wonderful MPN Voice supporters doing so many fantastic events, thank goodness the weather has started to get warmer, because there are a lot of you training outside for your challenges!
Please don’t forget, if you are planning your own event no matter how small, we would love to hear from you so that we can send you a fundraising pack and also let the wider MPN Voice Community know about what you are doing. Your event doesn’t have to be a huge challenge, it can be a gathering of friends and family, sponsored silence, coffee morning, readathon, whatever you feel you would like to do. On Friday 13th May, twenty amazing MPN Voice supporters are taking part in the Abseil Challenge. They will be abseiling 250 feet down the front of St Thomas’ Hospital. The fantastic views as they go down will include Big Ben, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament, I am sure it will be an experience they will never forget. I can’t wait to be there shouting encouragement and taking lots of photos for all of you to see. This is one of our new events in conjunction with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity.

Elise Walsh from 7th May for 10 weeks The South West Coast Path Challenge
Elise has set herself this huge challenge because she wants to fundraise to help MPN Voice fund research, so that a cure for our MPNs can be found.
“I will be walking the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path, end to end, on my own with my faithful friend Fergus, my dog. We will start on 7th May and aim to complete it in 10 weeks, starting from Minehead in Somerset and finishing in Poole, Dorset.”

Lesley Thompson 22nd May Great Manchester 10k
Last year, Lesley was diagnosed with myelofibrosis (MF). Lesley and her family want to support MPN Voice to raise funds for research. Her husband Rob has already had a raffle at work for MPN Voice, raffling off a hamper and there are also plans for a Comedy Night in November!
Lesley, Rob and Lesley’s sister, have set themselves a bit of a challenge, to participate in the Great Manchester 10k on 22nd May. Training has been ok, but so much better now the weather has got a bit warmer!

Sandie Ostler 22nd May Great Manchester 10k
Sandie recently signed up to take part in the Great Manchester 10k.
“My Aunt is currently living with myelofibrosis (MF), and she suggested supporting and raising money for MPN Voice as a way of helping fund research and raise awareness.”
Sandie has never done any running before, but has been really pleasantly surprised with her training, which is going well, especially now the sun is shining!
