forget the eosins - they r a type of white blood cell, too specialist for a non medic, I think, i just stick to the overall white count. i can't help with the platelet count - doesn't make a lot of sense as normal range something like 130-400 and us lot frequently well outside this range most of the time! labs have various places they put the decimal point so not sure if this is low-ish, high -ish or it's a different sort of calibration.

Hi Cazzy123, you could ask your GP to explain it to you, or even the practice nurse at your surgery, I am sure they will help you. Maz

Thank you Maz I will.

Hi Cazzy, try this link it may help.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mea...

If it does not work cut ( as I am rubbish pasting links using my new I pad) cut and paste into your browser.

Though as Maz says I would still check facts and what this means with your GP. Liz C

Hi Cazzy123,

Eosinophils are apart of your immune system and they respond to bacterial, parasitic, and viral infections anywhere in the body, and these cells also (when and if required) deal with ongoing inflammatory processes such as those caused by infections.

Your mean platelet volume is the measure of the average size of your platelets.

I hope that helps.
