High white blood count
Hi, my whites have peaked at 15.2. I understand it's a thrombosis risk, so a high count needs a venesection and I increased my hydroxy intake. jane
Hello 'marleque', my white cells count is usually about 14 to 15. I think the highest its been is 22.7 this year and the lowest its been this year is 15.3
I have MF but in the past when I had PVR I would take an increased dose of Hydroxy' until the levels returned to a more normal measure. I am now on Ruxolitinib and saw the haemaltolist today, but she was not overly concerned. They seem to be worrying more about my kidneys and creatinine than any bloods at the moment!
If you feel ill or are very worried about the blood levels then consult with your haematologist. Hopefully yours are as understanding as mine (in Southmead, Bristol)
Best wishes from Michael
Thank you for your replys. My hematologist told me we will wait and watch as high white blood count goes along with high platelets. I am not taking hydroxyurea. I was worried because they had been much lower when platelets were higher. I was diagnosed with E.T. in 2011 but have had it since 2005.
keep us informed and glad you got an explaintion
