I have been given these to take recently from a hospital neurologist, I am actually scared to take them, when I read the side effects, they are pretty horrific. Is it worth risking some really serious conditions such as psychosis and ataxia. Mmmm I'm not convinced about this yet!

I was given these in December. I only lasted 6 days on them as the side effects I experienced were not nice at all.... That's not to say you won't get on with them as everyone is different. I felt like you after reading people's comments and the side effects. What I had was awful sickness from the time I started them and over the space of 6 days or so lost about 7lb in weight due to the sickness and not eating, also the feeling of not being normal, like I was on the outside looking in, lack of interest in everything,.I lasted 6 days and couldn't take anymore... Hope you feel better soon and good luck with whatever you decide. X

I wouldn't let the list of side effects or other people's reactions put you off trying them. Everybody reacts differently to different things.

You know you could be on to something there, this is the second day into the medicine and I feel okay, not as tired as I thought I would be and I have to weigh up the pros and cons, so I feel that anything is better than nothing, so thank you for the support it is much appreciated.

Angie, I have been on them for nearly a year and have not experience any side effects.

My migraines are sever I have tried many different medication and this one has worked. We are all different, but it's worth trying them. Good luck and I hope things work out.

It takes ages to be weaned on to the right dose, persevere with it, they do help, they have stopped my hemiplegic and focal migraines. Don't be put off by the side effects, everyone is different.

I've been taking them for well over a year now and I am up to 200mg twice a day now and I have experienced NO side effects of an undesirable nature, but I was also concerned by the documentation when I first read it. All I can say is that they are giving you the worst case scenarios and I would not be too concerned, especially as your doctor normally starts you on a low dose and then brings you up based on your initial reaction and acceptance of the drug.

The only thing I can say is that the treatment was extremely effective for me initially and provided great relief and even a boost in energy and a sense of well being, however as my doctor feared, my body adapted to the drug and despite larger and larger doses, it got to the point where I am not experiencing anything like the benefits I did initially. Still, I strongly recommend you try it. The thing I am about to try and have had some success with in TENS machine therapy so I have hopes that this will provide greater long term relief.
