I've been on the coil for a month a Half now, and had a period for month, isit my migrane medication reacting with it? Anyone else had this problem? It's the only contraception I can go on that will work alone side my medication- I'm on topiramate

I've never had kids, I'm 18 amd this is my first time having the coil

The coil can do that. I bled for 9 months after I had mine put in and was in pain too. I wanted it out every one of those days but then it settled and I've had no issues since

I don't think it has anything to do with your migraine medication - Inhad a similar experience when I first had the coil. The good news is that after the first three months I stopped getting periods entirely. I have been on various migraine meds (including Topiramate) while using the coil and there have been no further problems. Hope things settle down for you soon.

I thin the hormone in the coil might be causing the bleeding. I think interaction with your medicine is unlikely to be the culprit.
