I would have thought Botox will take too long to work to get you through a medication holiday, but I find Botox very helpful in the long term. Botox takes at least two weeks to fully paralyse the muscles and the guidance is you need two rounds, one round every 3 months, to know if its going to work for you. A medication holiday is usually 3 to 6 weeks so it's not really in the correct time period for Botox.

I'd try eliminating all forms of dairy for 1 month before going thr botox route. I was on all meds possible including botox and nothing helped. Once I gave up dairy, I felt amazing and I'm proud to say I've been migraine free for 5.5 years. Oh and my neurologist congratulated me for figuring out that dairy was my trigger. She said dairy is the #1 trigger for migraine sufferers
