I am new here and would like to share my story with you all,it may be helpful to others with similar symptoms, you can ask questions if you wish to .February 2023 I experienced a strange sensation. I was at work and standing, when a loud ringing started in my ears, right side of my face felt numb, double vision and dizziness with balance problems. Went to hospital,by the time I was seen my symptoms had improved, had scans etc was told may have been a TIA. One month later had same thing but this time it was more violent and my right arm had pins and needles as if I'd been sitting on it and my vision was jumping as well as grey vision, confusion and vague speech,I don't remember any of this,my wife explained what had happened. Then afterwards I had a throbbing headache at back of head with some memory loss which came back in a day or two. A stroke was ruled out by CT scan and I was referred to neurology. My appointment was in June and between March and June I had 2 more of these episodes. Neurologist diagnosed me with migraine with brainstem aura (or what used to be called basilar migraine) I was put on 20mg of amitriptyline and ace inhibitor tablets, and now I only suffer mild to moderate headaches that can be managed with painkillers, sometimes I have blurry vision but it doesn't seem to get any worse now,so a lot better than I was 👍👍

Thank you for sharing. I had not heard of this type of migraine. I'm glad you are finding relief.

Thank you,it was something I wasn't expecting, the medication has been a big help. I didn't think migraines could affect you in such a way until the neurologist explained it to me. I don't think a lot of people understand how migraines can affect someone,if you don't suffer them it's hard to understand 👍
