Sertraline

Hi, I've been on 50mg sertraline for almost 5 weeks, my Dr doubled it to 100mg 3 days ago because anxiety was getting worse, this afternoon I felt really weird, whistling in my ears and my feet feel really hot, has anyone else had similar.

50 to 100 mg is a standard increase however I found it much too much.i am very 'reactive' to sertraline in that increased doses make me feel appalling. I increased from 50 mg to 75mg and went through living hell. I now realise that the standard dosage and increases are too powerful for me and I now increase 10 mg at a time(per week)which I find much much more manageable .Having said this as I kept taking the increased dosage the horrible symptoms did go and then I felt much better in fact sertraline transformed me and cured me.

How long time did it take to have effect?Been on sertaline for 8 weeks now.

Started on 25mg for 4 days, 50mg 3,5 week and now 4 weeks on 75mg. Had like ine good day without hell.

How long should I wait to know if the current dose Works?

I got results after 8 days ,though that is unusually fast.Each dose increase you may have to wait a month or two before you know though many do not feel the benefits till they increase the dose .So maybe 3-6 weeks on your current dose should be enough.

yep - both, but with Citalopram - also an SSRI. The hot feet faded after a bit, and the tinnitus has reduced but not gone away. It comes and goes.
